Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data the resumer site processes, for what purpose and how you control it, under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018).
1. Data we collect
You don't need an account to read the site: there is no login, no comments and no newsletter. The hosting server receives technical data from each visit (IP address, browser, page requested, date and time) to deliver the pages, protect the site against abuse and measure use in aggregate. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 7, IX). If you write to us through the contact page, the message is sent from your own email app and stays only in the newsroom's inbox.
2. What is stored in your browser
The site itself stores two preferences in the browser's local storage, without sending them to anyone:
resumer-theme: the light or dark theme you chose;resumer-consent: your answer about advertising cookies (accept or decline).
3. Cookies and ads (Google AdSense)
The site may show Google AdSense ads, always labeled "Advertising". Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
Here, none of this happens without your consent. Ads appear from the first visit, but in non-personalized mode: Google receives the ad request with consent denied (Consent Mode), with no advertising cookie and without using your history. On your first visit, a notice asks whether you accept advertising cookies; only "Accept" turns on personalization and measurement. The legal basis is consent (Art. 7, I), which you can withdraw at any time under "Cookie preferences", in the footer.
How to turn off ad personalization
- In Google's My Ad Center (adssettings.google.com), you turn off personalized advertising on your Google account.
- At aboutads.info/choices, you opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising.
- Learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
4. Links to other sites
Stories link to their sources and, sometimes, carry a line of affiliate links. Once you leave the site, the privacy policy of the destination site applies. Affiliate links may identify that the visit came from here.
5. Your rights
Under the LGPD, you can request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, deletion, portability, information about sharing and withdrawal of consent (Art. 18).To do so, write to the data protection officer at redacao@resumer.com.br.You can also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
6. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated.
The rules for using the content and the affiliate links are in the Terms of use.
